Vigilo, i.e., me, is frolicking off to the UK for a university trip jaunt sort of thing today, which is why you're getting the prompt journal two (or three, depending on your timezones) days early this time. Which also means you get more time to work on the prompt, which isn't something that'll happen a lot. Use it wisely, my friends. :ahoy:

My House Is Alive by notsuperunnatural
"It knew exactly what I was feeling. Just a dog can smell the fear on a person; the kitchen could sense my fear too. I suppose the house had a way of communicating with itself, for when any of the parts knew something, the other parts would join in too."

An excellently creepy story about a way too possessive house, an unfortunate situation, and an even more unfortunate captive. The direct nature of the narrative, and the deliberate generality of the house as well as the narrator, only serves to make the effect more unnerving - this could be anyone's house.

My critique on the piece can be found here.

Prompt

I want you to write about injustice. It doesn't have to have a particular ending (e.g. happy or sad) - or about a global injustice, it can be anything from a story about someone losing their job for unfair reasons, to a poem about feminism, or a play about a protest. Anything goes, fiction or nonfiction, poetry or prose, etc., but injustice is the name of the game - an event, a societal construct, a stereotype, a character - anything. What is it? What's unfair about it? What makes people angry about it? Is it obviously wrong, or a more subtle wrong-doing? Can it be fixed? Is anybody doing anything to fix it? And so on and so forth. Go wild.

Don't forget to submit your responses to the folder here if you want to be featured!
