Apologies for the lateness of this fortnight's prompt! We had a slight mix-up, but it's all taken care of now.

Feature:

Overdrive - The Girl In Every MindOverdrive - The Girl In Every Mind
I knew when I saw her, that she was not a normal girl. I didn't know what to do. I felt torn. I am not the kind of person to just leave someone there when they need my help. It was not some personal crusade I felt to try to save her, It was my heart not wanting to let go of those sad eyes.
Her past, her whole being as I now know it, frightens me. I'm not only afraid for my own safety, but for the safety of those around me. I have been forever changed and I am unsure if it is in a good way or a bad one.
I couldn't save you from the start. You were all the things I thought I knew.
But I didn't.
Not really.
I didn't understand how difficult it all was. How terrifying it is to find that silence, afraid it will shatter our world. I knew, I knew you, always, that there were things impossible to control. I didn't know that it could be a girl found in a city so dead.
"There's a choice," I had told the woman, "to not end up like you."

A beautiful, lonely piece with touches of mystery and nostalgia – a very creative use of five pieces of music.
Critique: here.

Prompt:

Write an epistolary piece involving at least three people and at least two different kinds of media. (Get creative: don't just use letters or e-mails, try IM programs, bottle-messages or wiki edit wars!)
Not all the entries have to be directed at each other, but they should link up in some way. Perhaps two people are editing a document together and one of them starts receiving mysterious texts. Perhaps someone stumbles on a decades-old correspondence and it helps to uncover mysteries in the present. Go wild!

You must submit your piece here if you wish to be featured and critiqued!

Resource:

Bonus: two this week, because I love you all.
First: a brilliant resource for anyone interested in formatting for writers (especially if you're interested in getting published).
Second: a great guide to making fantasy alphabets and languages.
Have fun! :la:
