Publishing Opportunity no.5

The writer John Hartness is creating an anthology about the bad guys and offering $50 for each short-story he accepts onto the anthology.


Here's the info:

Yeah, I’m not too bright. But I want to write a story about a bad vampire. You know, the kind of guy who just does what he wants and damn the consequences. No angst, just fangs. Since I want to write this story, I of course think people will want to read it. Since I think people want to read one story about a bad guy, I think they might want to read a whole anthology of stories about bad guys.

You've got to send Mr Hartness a short-story, max word count 6000 words, where the main protagonist is a 'bad guy'. It can be fantasy, urban fantasy, superhero, horror, whatever genre you like; just send him your best bad guy story. There are 20 slots available.

As previously mentioned, each short-story accepted will get $50 from John and that's for one year’s exclusive electronic and print rights plus two contributor’s copies. After that they retain rights to publish electronically in the anthology only, and in print in this anthology only, but you can take it and sell it somewhere else, or sell it yourself as a standalone.


Email submissions to johnhartness@gmail.com, as a .doc or .txt attachment. The submissions should include a brief author's biography. We recommend a 200 word maximum, and a 100 word average.

The story can be anything you've already written and you will receive a printed copy of the anthology for free if you are accepted.
