Happy Halloween!

Journal Entry: Tue Oct 30, 2012, 7:34 PM

Our first ever Halloween party was held a few days ago, since we were sure that all of you little zombies would be pretty busy with the apocalypse today. Even if it wasn't actually Halloween, though, it surely felt so! With awesomeness in the air and spookiness provided by the creativity (and randomness!) of all of you, our party was a huge success. :dummy:

We had rounds of Flash Lit that were stunning, with a bit crazy incredible prompts that were both funny to write about and to think of; and lots of participants that made sure silence never lasted long. :pumpkin: but what's most amazing is that we have a surprise for some of you! Three random participants were selected for a one-month PM each. :la: just a small prize for their efforts and Halloween spirit.

But first, let me show you some of the best efforts of our Flash Lit! They could make you laugh, or shiver... or maybe both. ;P

Prompt "Cockroach", given by Clevina

And the outsider moves so skittishly! his cloak flares.
Come, now, the night beckons - his back a mirror,
and legs curling, a traveller gone finding:
what lies, what a feast! Word-buried
and world-weary of towers.

Prompt "Nightmare on Downing Street", given by WyvernLetDie

Margaret Thatcher, caught snogging TonyBlair.

Nightmare on Downing Street
Nightmare on Downing StreetNightmare on Downing Street
A while off the roads, down and aways from the church, stands a tall, bell-headed clown.  His eyes are made of glazed stones and dust, and he is but a child, and hidden off from direct view of the church doors because the road curves off a bit.
Winds blows and nights pass in this quaint little village, and children and adults like enjoy passing by this lovely, charismatic little statue, perched high above on his pedestal and looming over with his happy smile and sorrowful pose of joy.  When one passes by, they cannot but help to warm up, and when the chill winds pass through cold autumn mornings with the golden dapples of sunlight bearing down on the dark woods behind, the lonely caws of the ravens can't help but comfort.  And all alone stands the statue of this child-clown, all alone and strange and dim.  His eyes gleam, and he seems to have a soul to those who smile at him and rest beneath the pedestal of his form on cold nights to warm themselves up, al

Prompt "Zombie Courtship", given by WyvernLetDie

Oh, my Annabell, I do so love the way the worms
crawl 'round your eyes and out again through your scalp.
My sweet Medusa, my witch of the bone-fingers,
I await the feel of your crypt-breath on my neck,
when I come to join you
by the sea.
Your Edgar

With a follow-up that you can read HERE!

Prompt "Blackened Bones", given by doodlerTM

Come here and I'll show you something nice. Just a bit more through that door. Yes, that's right, just further on. Don't fear what could be there, 'cause you'll it see very soon. I'll light the way with my small lamp. A little shine that shows the way. The creaking floors is telling us; where you are - right next to me. Grasp that knob and open it. You see what's in that darkened room? Those on the floor here . at this place? Yes they are, the blackened bones. They've been here so long. They're gorgeos, aren't they? And you'll be one of them soon.

Prompt "Moonlit Grave", given by AeternusVotum

"Now look here, sir," the tall man said, "I really must object - your request is simply out of the question." The ghost moaned balefully. "All I want is some evening moonlight - all the other graves get some." The man's moustache bristled. "That yew tree has been in your graveyard much longer than you have. You can't expect us to chop it down just because you want the moonlight to shine on your grave!" The ghost sighed. "Well I suppose I'll have to eat my breakfast in the dark, as usual..." he moaned again and floated away, although the man decided that if ghosts could drag their feet dejectedly, this one was doing so.

These works are amazing, funny and chilling at the same time. The chat events were so much fun, and I'm really glad we had so many participants. :dummy:
Randomly selected, the three lucky deviants were NekoMarik , HaveTales-WillTell and Atlantihero-Kyoxei ! :iconconfettiplz: Thank you all for participating, and we hope you'll be with us for our future chat events. (:

 Last but not least, let me take this occasion as an excuse to introduce myself. I've been admin for this Group since the first weeks it was created and the admin team recently decided to appoint me Wordsmistress, replacing jonathoncomfortreed; he's been such an amazing  "boss" for all of us that it feels impossible to do as good a job as he did. But the word group implies I have all of the other admins and you members to back me up, help me when I do something wrong and be the dictator ( :iconteheplz: ) leader you deserve. So thank you for having joined the revolution and taking part in it and from all of us, happy Halloween! :pumpkin:

It isn't actually all of the works on the blog, just a select few, but we do have a copy of all of them if you want to see them. (:
Glad you had a good time! :la:

Oh, so you do have a copy of all of them? :)
That's nice to hear because I think everything that was written in those five minutes was awesome! It would be nice if you have any deviation or journal with all of them :D
Yes, I had an awesome time and would attend one again if it is manageable :la:

I do – would you like me to note it to you? (That goes for anyone else reading this too, btw! :XD:)
Yeah, but there were seriously a lot – like, around 2,000 words' worth. It would have been an insanely long journal, so *HtBlack just picked a few of the best. XD
Yay! :highfive:

Oh yes, that would be really nice if you do so :)
I would love rereading them, because I can't remember most of them ^^;
Haha, I think I wouldn't have mind such a long journal - but really, 2000 words? That's insanely incredible and cool! :dummy:
